Hello everyone, and welcome to tonight’s recap page. On account of the preemption, once again NXT is all by it’s lonesome in the standard timeslot. So I’ll be giving you the live recap and results from the show as they come! Watch this space~!
NXT TakeOver XXX recap starts us off of course. New NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux come to the ring. Scarlett hands Kross a mic. He says, very slowly, “I told you again and again that I would become NXT Champion. And I warned you that on the way there, everyone would suffer. And at TakeOver XXX, I kept good on my word when I ripped the NXT title off of Keith Lee’s carcass like flesh from bone! But one should know when you go to war, you should expect casualties on both sides. My shoulder, separated. The searing pain in my arm, it brings me life. However I’m a realist and I understand the reality of the situation. There’s no way I can defend the NXT Championship in this situation. So…”
Scarlett hands him the title. Kross says, “For other men, there are obstacles. But for me, the obstacles are the path.” He sits the title down, amongst a little spotlight as the smoke billows in and Scarlett sits an hourglass on the mat. Kross says, “Let this be a warning. This changes nothing. When the time comes to pay the toll, everybody will suffer. God help the obstacles that make my path. Tick tock.”
Dang. Injury must be fairly severe if they’re doing this. We go to the commentary table to see Wade Barrett is here. He notes having to relinquish a title for the exact same injury so his heart goes out to him. Now we’ve got an NXT tag title match.
WWE NXT Tag Team Championships: Imperium (c) vs. Breezango
Breeze and Dango attack before the bell and send them out of the ring. They scurry back in and the ref has to seperate them before starting the match. Aichner and Dango trade waistlocks, Aichner with an arm drag and arm wringer cinched in. Barthel tags himself in, arm drag of his own and he’s got his arm hooked. Dango throws him off, but eats a shoulder block. Leapfrog into a dropkick. Commercial break. In the inset the heels get the advantage again and keep working Fandango over.
As we come back, Dango is trying to elbow his way out of a side headlock but he gets taken to the heel corner. Tries to fight out but Aichner throws him into a European Uppercut from Marthel, clothesline for a 2 count. Aichner with a Butterfly Suplex for a nearfall. Dango is able to escape for the tag, Breeze runs wild, Barthel tries to reject him but eats a high knee. Breeze gets whipped to the corner, floats over but Marthel avoids him, european uppercut, Overhead Belly To Belly, goes to the second rope but Breeze with a Beauty Shot out of the air! Nearfall!
Aichner tags in, Breeze retakes advantage, tag to Fandango, Breeze holds him for a Flying Legdrop from Fandango! Aichner rolls to the floor, Fandango tries to pursue but eats a big uppercut from Barthel and a German Suplex onto the floor from Aichner! Commercial break. When we come back, Aichner catches Fandango out of the air into what is, no joke, Kenny Omega’s You Can’t Escape combo only for Breeze to break up the pin.
But Barthel pulls Breeze out of the ring and absolutely fucks his shit up by throwing him into plexiglass and Tilt-A-Whirl Slamming him as hard as possible onto the floor. Barthel tags in, hits another on Fandango for a nearfall. They situate him in the corner for a double dropkick, Fandango avoids it and Barthel dropkicks Aichner to the floor! Breeze tags in as does Aichner, hilariously Aichner immediately clotheslines him inside out. THey want the European Bomb but Breeze superkicks each of them to counter it! Fandango with the tag… Top Rope Legdrop to both! AND HE GETS THE PIN!
Winner: Breezango
Well hot damn. Didn’t see that coming, that’s really cool.
Damien Priest is backstage talking about partying in celebration of his title win. Timothy Thatcher shows up and berates him for how he acts as a champion. Priest laughs in his face, pats his title and walks off.
Now for the return of Ciampa… he returns with a hood and an entrance mask.
Jake Atlas vs. Tommaso Ciampa
He takes Atlas into the corner, clobbers him, stomps him viciously into the ropes. Face wash, stomps upon the head of the kid! Pulls him up, takes him to the apron, Willow’s Bell DDT! Cover for the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Well that was a sheer squash. Ciampa looks like he’s returning as a villain and indeed, he pulls Atlas out from the ring and tosses him into the glass. He brings him under the ring and catapults him into the metal! He sits upon the apron and just watches as doctors tend to Atlas. Eventually he just up and grabs him and hits another Willow’s Bell off the stretcher! He smiles gleefully about it before standing up and making his leave.
We see a video of Candice talking about meeting up with Tegan Nox and befriending her. But she says Tegan doesn’t get her anymore. She had her back but where was she when she needed her? She’s down the right path now and Tegan can be done it too. If she doesn’t wanna go down that path she can atleast stay out her way. Sometimes you have to be selfish and if she doesn’t understand that, c’est la vie.
Bronson Reed is asked about Thatcher going after Priest. Reed says he’s actually beaten Priest so he thinks he should get the opportunity. Austin Theory appears behind him to give him some advice. If he just keeps chasing the stars maybe when he’s 55 he’ll be a champion. Reed slaps him.
Mia Yim is in the ring when Robert Stone and Aliyah come out to cut a promo on her, but suddenly Shotzi Blackheart runs him over and the tank once again is crushing his leg. It appears Mia was gonna face Mercedes Martinez but somehow Stone got them to book Shotzi in her place?
Mia Yim vs. Shotzi Blackheart
They lock-up. Mia with a waistlock takedown. Side headlock into a hammerlock. Shotzi with a trip, Ball Pit hits. Mia throws her away off of a Monkey Flip attempt but eats a rana for 2. Takes her into the corner, whip to opposite corner, charge, Shotzi with the boots up but Mia catches it, brutal Dragonscrew Legwhip variation onto both legs! Snapmare, kick to the back. Winner: Shotzi Blackheart
That was good!
William Regal is about to make an announcement about the NXT title.
Backstage, Dakota Kai with Raquel Gonzalez, says Rhea Ripley should’ve minded her own business at TakeOver XXX. But they’re not bothered, they should be a team. Io and Rhea aren’t. Rhea wants what Io has. Kai says she still deserves to be champ and she’ll prove it tonight.
Regal in the ring with the NXT title on a podium to explain what the situation will be. He wishes Karrion Kross the best with his recovery. After referring to the “NXT Advisory Board” he’s come up with a solution. Next week on the special Tuesday edition of NXT, four of the greatest champions in their history will compete in a four way match to be the new NXT Champion. This sounds rad as hell. Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Finn Balor vs. Adam Cole… in a 60-minute Ironman Fatal Four Way?! Holy crap!
NXT Cruiserweight Championship: Santos Escobar (c) vs. Swerve Scott
After a quick feeling out, Swerve dropkicks him to the floor, Escobar is trying to powder as we go to commercial. When we come back, Swerve is trying to escape from a side headlock. Swerve trips and rolls him into a leglock but Santos scrambles free and powders again. Swerve out onto the apron, grabs him but Santos tosses him straight from the apron into the plexiglass, ow! Santos tosses him back in. Kick to the chest, cover for 2. Takes him into the corner, charging double knees to the chest, pulls him to the mat for a cover for 2. They lock hands for a Test of Strength, Santos gets him down for a moment but suddenly they pull each other to the top rope, Swerve wants a top rope rana but Escobar turns it into a Top Rope Powerbomb for a nearfall! Commercial break.
When we come back, Escobar with an Inverted Atomic Drop, driving knee to the chest! Swerve catches a kick, takes him into the corner and pummels him! Rolls him into the ring, Reverse STO… but Wilde and Mendoza distract the ref! Escobar with a DDT, nearfall!

Escobar slips to the floor… grabs a luchador mask from under the ring? He puts it on, Swerve tries to grab him but eats a headbutt, Escobar slides in and pins him!
Winner: Santos Escobar
Heh. A loaded mask, that’s a new one for me.
Gargano backstage talks about the unbroken promise to build this place brick by brick. Says he’s been the ironman in NXT for years, and next week, he’ll prove it.
Finn Balor says while some fall and pray, the Prince rises to the occasion. The pieces are set, with the four cornerstones of NXT. He’ll enjoy every second of that one hour proving that he’s not the cornerstone, he’s the centerpiece. Everyone will get what they want, Finn Balor as NXT Champion.
On account of TUE attacking Drake Maverick and Killian Dain, Maverick is out for revenge.
Drake Maverick vs. Kyle O’Reilly
They start out swinging! Maverick with a series of forearms and kicks, ducks a line, dropkick to the leg clips Kyle and sends him to the floor due to his own momentum! Maverick up top! Big senton onto Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish! O’Reilly slips into the ring as Maverick favors his back. As he re-enters, Kyle stops him with a roundhouse kick to the chest, mounts him with palm strikes! Ruthless kick to the back of the head.
Maverick fights back, series of charging kicks, but Kyle with a clothesline flips him! Kyle with a shoulderbreaker, exchange of strikes and of course O’Reilly wins out, leg kick buckles him! Off a whip, Maverick tries to float over but the leg gives out, O’Reilly cinches him into an Achilles Lock! Transition to a Heel Hook and Maverick has to tap.
Winner: Kyle O’Reilly
Brief, but I dug the action. Afterwards, Strong and Fish come in and stomp him. Bobby Fish grabs a steel chair. But in comes Killian Dain to the ring to fend them off! He grabs a chair and takes it to Strong’s back! Maverick stands up and he and Dain stare at each other. Drake staggers over but Dain just clotheslines him and leaves.
Rhea Ripley backstage says it’s no surprise she wants what Io has but she won’t let that get in the way tonight. At TakeOver she didn’t come down to save her, she wanted to send the message that Io is hers.
Adam Cole in a different part of backstage calls the four way the Mount Rushmore of NXT. Now that he’s moved on from Pat McAfee he can focus on what’s important. When he held the title for a record breaking amount of days, he was called a lot of things and one thing was the Ironman. He’ll prove it was true.
Main event time!

Io tags in, takes it to her with strikes, comes off the second rope with a flying headscissors! Raquel powders, Io wants to dive but Kai stands in her way! Io with a forearm sends her flying but Gonzalez catches her! Commercial break. Heels take over in the inset. Io turns a chokeslam into a Rana for 2 but is isolated afterward anyway.
Io with a boot up off a Kai charge, but she’s held back from the tag. As we come back, Shirai with a Wheelbarrow Roll-Through Doublestomp! Tag to Ripley who comes in like a house of fire, knee lifts to Kai, round kick! Double bridge takes her to the floor though. Raquel takes her into the ring, power whip to the corner. Ripley fights to her knees but a heavy hand drops her. Kai tags in and rolls her up for 2.
Quick tags and isolation continue until Ripley gets Raquel with a head kick! Io tagged in, house of fire, big strikes to both! She catches a Kai kick and sends it into Gonzalez! Drapes Kai in the ropes, Meteora to Gonzalez, Tiger Feint Kick to Kai, Springboard Missile Dropkick for a nearfall! Kai with a Scorpion Kick to counter the Tiger Driver, Io with a hip toss into a Kamigoye! Hoists her up for a German Suplex, Raquel barely breaks it up! Ripley pushes Io out of the way of an attack and tags in but she’s too battered, Gonzalez with a big boot, Protobomb for the win!
