Tonight comes another PPV, this one being this year’s edition of WWE Hell In A Cell. And it turns out I don’t have as much time as I thought, the last hour just kinda disappeared on me… so let’s get this done quick! I’ll be making predictions for every match they’ve bothered to announce for the main card!
I Quit Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
(If Jey loses, he must either follow Roman’s orders or him, Jimmy and their immediate families will be disowned)
This is probably the easiest match to call by a wide margin. Jey has no real prayer here, though it should be a helluva thing to watch him try. For once I’m going into a WWE match expecting brutality. After their last match, to up the ante with this stip as much as they have, they kinda have no choice. Roman Reigns to win, and force the Usos into being his henchmen for the foreseeable future.
Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton
On some level, I’ve been expecting Randy Orton to become WWE Champion for a while now. I don’t think I’m alone in that department, this just seems like the natural thing to do right now. McIntyre has had a lengthy run where they’ve booked him strong the whole time, and has even beaten Orton several times at this point. So there’s not much to be lost with Orton taking the title at this stage, and we all want to be at the point where McIntyre can come back to the mountain with full crowds there to see it. It just feels like it’s time. Orton to take the gold.
Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks
Thinking about it, I’m not sure I can recall a WWE match that was this long in the making. Sasha Banks and Bayley were teasing a break-up for years and everyone was expecting it for so long, that everyone seeing it coming became part of the angle in of itself. Finally they square off, and they do so inside the HIAC. I sorta hope this match headlines, it’d do a lot to make up for not going for it at WrestleMania instead. With that in mind, and Bayley already being a record holding champion, I think I’ll say Sasha Banks takes the title tonight.
There we go, predicting two major title changes on a B PPV. Now I’m guaranteed to be let down~!
Otis vs. The Miz (Otis’ MITB Contract On The Line)
This angle sure has been happening for a while. And that’s about all I have to say about that. These are two guys who could each have a good match with the right opponent, but put them together and I don’t really expect much.
Even though I can’t really see Otis ever winning his cash-in, and him simply losing the contract via these dubious means might actually be healthier for him than suffering whatever booking WWE has in store for him, Miz taking it just doesn’t seem likely to me. Otis over.
Jeff Hardy vs. Elias
This angle will be going on for a little while, atleast long enough for Sheamus to get involved again. Since, y’know, he’s the one who actually hit Elias with that car and everyone has basically known that for the last like, four months. It’s a bit of a toss-up this one, especially because either way I don’t think it would conclude the feud. But I think I’ll say Elias over. He just came back and this win would do a lot more for him than the other way around would do for Jeff.
